Today is December 3, 2008 and it was a balmy 44 degrees at 6:30 this am.

Gas is 1.95 a gallon at my favorite gas station (FILLS 7110 S Durango Dr)

Desert Marketplace is moving along nicely with a little retail space available:

Walgreens and Burger King are now open.

The buzz for the other anchor retail shops not yet open:  Petco, 24 Hour Fitness, TJ Maxx

It is situated on the SE corner of Warm Springs and Durango just 0.5 miles from the main entrance of Rhodes Ranch.

The proposed Durango Station Casino gets postponed (groan for those of us who are tired of looking at this dirt lot and waiting for so long!)

All news reports indicate that the postponement is indefinite due to the financial health of the company and lack of financing.  Stay tuned, some day they will build it!

There has been activity at Rhodes Family Park on the corner of El Capitan and Arby Streets.  There are stakes and trenches all over the plot of dirt now.  I was in shock when the activity started in the last month.  Can't find anything on the County Website about it and when I google it, all I find is my own article that I wrote two years ago about it.

We have been looking forward to this project since we were told about it in 2002.  Are they just moving earth or is this becoming a reality?

I thought Clark County was halting many projects and laying off workers due to economic conditions.  I guess we gotta stay tuned for this one too...
